B<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>ruce Mellado<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;from the University of Witwatersrand (South Africa).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Feel free to forward it to a colleague who may be interested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Title:&nbsp;<em>The Institute for Collider Particle Physics in South Africa: scope and vision<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong>: The Institute for Collider Particle Physics comprises three institutions in South Africa: the University of Zululand, iThemba LABS of the National Research Foundation and the University of the Witwatersrand. With over 60 members, it covers a range of activities, mostly revolving around projects at the ATLAS experiment at CERN and technology transfer. These include, maintenance, operations, upgrade of the detector, data analysis, phenomenology and various projects in technology transfer.
