This interest is enhanced because different technologies that support the EU Green Deal or the World Green Transition, employ RE permanent magnets. In my presentation I will present several studies focused on the optimization of the hard particles at the nanoscale to to get materials with best performances than ceramic magnets. First, I will discuss the magnetic properties of a series of M-type Sr ferrite nanoparticles in comparison of those of micrometric commercial powders. The magnetic hysteresis show that nanoparticles produced by solid reaction exhibit the largest coercive field, with the best values present in literature and commercial materials. However, the magnetic anisotropy of these particles, measured by Singular Point Detection, is smaller than the micrometric particles. I will discuss these differences considering the reversal process of each material and taking into account the size and the morphology. Second, I will show different approaches to obtain a progressive increase of the coercive field and of the energy product of Co- ferrite nanoparticles considering the optimization of the composition, the particle size and the micro-strains. Finally, I will discuss on the recycling of RE-permanent magnets through the example of the EIT-RM project INSPIRES.

This work was developed in the framework of the PRIN-PNRR project HyperMag (prot.
