Vulnerable to such events due to its subtropical location, Morocco experienced over 35 major floods from 1951 to 2015, resulting in substantial losses. Understanding the spatio-temporal aspects and physical processes\u00a0of\u00a0extreme precipitation is crucial for prediction and risk mitigation. Unfortunately, Morocco&#8217;s local and regional climates are insufficiently investigated, exacerbating uncertainties in climate projections. This lack\u00a0of\u00a0focus hinders decision-making, leaving the nation ill-prepared for natural disasters like floods. Our research aims to address this gap by investigating the spatio-temporal characteristics and physical processes behind extreme precipitation events in Morocco. Subsequently, using downscaling approaches, we aim to provide climate projections that account for local-scale climate forcings,\u00a0offering more reliable information for informed decision-making. Ultimately, our goal is to enhance Morocco&#8217;s ability to prepare for and mitigate the impacts\u00a0of\u00a0extreme weather events associated with extreme precipitation, reducing the risk\u00a0of\u00a0unpredicted disasters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b><span lang=\"EN-US\">Biography<\/span><\/b><\/span><b><span lang=\"EN-US\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">:<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle\"><span lang=\"EN-US\" data-ogsc=\"black\">Mr. Abdelaziz Chaqdid holds an engineering degree in meteorology from Ecole Hassania des Travaux publics, Morocco, in 2021.
